About the ArtistIsabel Villalonga (Spain) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Copenhagen whose practice blends sculpture, video, and speculative storytelling to explore the boundaries between the tangible and the imaginary. Rooted in material experimentation and ecological thinking, her work investigates the ties between the female body, ritual, and more-than-human worlds. She holds a Master’s degree in Film Creative Production from Catalyst, Berlin, where she developed Bodily Ecologies, a long-term project that merges tactile forms with dreamlike cinematic narratives. Through her multisensory installations, she invites viewers to inhabit postnatural landscapes where intuition, interconnection, and imagination become tools for reimagining the future. |
Bodily Ecologies is an ongoing installation featuring four sculptural bodies and four audiovisual pieces that coexist within a shared speculative environment. Each entity operates autonomously yet remains interconnected, forming a constellation rather than a linear narrative.
The project unfolds through material transformation, embodied gestures, and audiovisual traces, exploring alternative modes of perception, ritual, and communication that resist fixed hierarchies. The sculptural forms act as living bodies, bearing traces of memory, process, and transformation.
Together, they generate a liminal, immersive space where relationships between beings can be felt rather than defined—an invitation to a dreamlike, postnatural imaginary where all forms of existence coexist equally.
