About the Artist
Frances Kephart Chernicoff is a 87 year old painter who reconnected with her art in January of 2021. Her work is in acrylic and gouache, with both brush and pallette knife, on 12x16 to 18x24 stretched canvas. Her work is influenced by her thirty year life in Asia (South Korea and Hong Kong), New York, California, and now in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frances's paintings are real life impressions of all that is around her, as well as scenes she receives from her family. Frances does not paint portraits, but concentrates on what interests and enthuses her the most. Frances's paintings are reproduced as prints in sizes up to 12x16, museum and gallery quality, produced in-house. Frances has also received commission work for her paintings. In addition, Frances has two web sites, one for paintings and the other for prints (fransart.net), as well as a video with examples of her work on YouTube.
A new work from January 2022 is “Angst of Neshuma”, a triptych print created from one original painting, made from a cloud formation seen on Christmas Eve in Las Vegas. This print can be seen at fransart.net. Newer work can be seen at fransart.net and fransart.online.
